Bowman HouseA 5-storey building, Bowman House is one of the CBD’s oldest buildings built in the early 1900’s. In 2009 we completed a full internal and external upgrade and refurbishment of the building. The building owners objective was to improve the layout of each floor and bring the building up to current market expectations. However the existing structure was not conducive to open plan and required major structural re-work. All building services were relocated to a newly created central spine requiring major demolition and structural works to convert each floor plate. Projects of this nature on a prime CBD intersection must be well planned and executed to ensure tenants could continue operating and public access remain unimpeded. So we prepared a floor-by-floor plan for the refurbishment. The building owners decision to invest in this project has seen one of Brisbane’s iconic CBD buildings transform into a modern retail and office facility. The investment has paid dividends for the owner with the building fully leased. A combination of location, facilities and appeal to tenants has made it a sort after location for business. There were a number of unknowns involved in the project as well as strict timelines set by incumbent tenants. I have worked with Steve for years and he always delivers on promises.” Gerard Frisby, ATG Properties Project Scope
